Chiefs' Alex Smith may find himself on the trading block this offseason
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith is expected to be on the trade block this offseason, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
After the drafting of Patrick Mahomes this year, the veteran signal caller has long anticipated 2017 being his last season with the Chiefs. Since Smith is under contract for one more season a trade makes the most sense for both parties with the 33-year-old likely being in high demand. With the way Smith has played through 2 games -- 619 passing yards and 5 touchdowns -- the Chiefs will be well positioned recoup some of the picks they spent trading up for Mahomes.
Our models project Smith for 235.7 yards, 1.7 touchdowns, and 0.7 interceptions for 17.3 FanDuel points versus the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.
