Shane Vereen out-produces Paul Perkins as Giants fall to Detroit
New York Giants running back Shane Vereen rushed 6 times for 28 yards and caught 3 passes on 3 targets for 27 yards on Monday night in a Week 2 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Vereen logged 17-of-56 snaps versus the Lions, compared to 28 for Paul Perkins, but the former out-produced the latter 55-22 in total yards. The Giants' backfield doesn't offer much fantasy value, but Vereen is worth owning in deeper PPR formats.
Against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, numberFire's models project Vereen to score 7.4 FanDuel points at a cost of $4,800. He's expected to turn in 25.0 rushing yards on 5.9 attempts and 26.0 receiving yards on 3.2 receptions with 0.14 touchdowns, making him the RB44 in our standard weekly fantasy rankings.
