Lions' Kenny Golladay to share three-wide duties with T.J. Jones

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter says that wide receivers Kenny Golladay and T.J. Jones will both play third wide receiver snaps in Week 1.

What It Means:

According to MLive's Kyle Meinke, Cooter expanded upon this by saying that who they send out "depends on matchups." Other reports suggest that Jones is ahead of Golladay and will receive more time in the rotation, but that could change sooner rather than later if Golladay's preseason performance is any indication.

In Week 1's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, our models project Golladay for 4.5 targets, 2.6 receptions and 33.6 yards to Jones' 3.1 targets, 1.4 receptions and 19.8 yards. And, even though both players carry a similar touchdown projection, Golladay's expected output (5.4 FanDuel points) is greater than Jones' (3.7).
