Saints' Willie Snead suspended for first three games of season
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Wille Snead has been suspended three games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.
A tough blow to the Saints' receiving corp as Snead was expected to thrive in the high-powered passing offense as the team's slot receiver. On a slightly positive note, the wide out was originally banned for four games but got his suspension reduced to three on appeal. He will return on October 1 versus the Miami Dolphins. Expect more targets for tight end Coby Fleener and fellow wideouts Michael Thomas and Brandon Coleman while Snead is out.
Snead was projected for 72.3 catches, 951.9 yards, and 5.3 touchdowns as our 26th-best wideout before the suspension. Expect around 12 fewer catches and 160 yards for the Saints' receiver in 2017.
