Panthers' Curtis Samuel left Thursday's game with ankle injury
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Curtis Samuel left Thursday's preseason game with an ankle injury, according to The Associated Press' Steve Reed.
After missing time early in camp with a hamstring injury, Samuel caught four passes for 15 yards in his preseason debut. He then proceeded to tally two catches for five yards before exiting on Thursday. With Week 1 on the horizon, Samuel's availability appears to be in question, but his spot in the pecking order is as well. Without much playing time under his belt, Damiere Boyd and Russell Shepard figure to get more looks in Carolina's four wideout sets.
The situation may not be ideal, but Samuel's talent has made him a late-round flier candidate in fantasy football drafts. As such, our models expect him to rack up 32.6 catches, 426.6 yards and 3 touchdowns on 56.8 targets this season.
