Donnel Pumphrey to be stashed on Eagles' injured reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles would "ideally" like to stash rookie running back Donnel Pumphrey on injured reserve this season, according to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com.

What It Means:

Per Kempski, that would give him "more time to adjust to the speed and size of the NFL." Pumphrey has been roundly outplayed by undrafted Corey Clement this summer, leading Kempski to believe that his roster spot is "not safe." It's a different take than the one offered by CSN Philly's Reuben Frank, who said Friday that Pumphrey is "almost certain to stick." The team's backfield is totally in flux.

Our models project Smallwood for 366 yards from scrimmage and 1.29 touchdowns on 79 touches, good for a fantasy mark well outside single-season relevance.
