Jeremy Hill starts for Bengals in first preseason game

Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill managed 26 yards on seven carries in the team's preseason opener.

What It Means:

Giovani Bernard (knee) sat this one out, so Hill largely dominated work with the first-team offense, playing ahead of rookie Joe Mixon. Mixon did mix in on the Bengals' opening drive, however, indicating there's a chance he moves up the depth chart sooner rather than later.

Our algorithms project Hill as fantasy football's 45th-best running back in 2017, with 527 rushing yards and 3.46 touchdowns on 125 carries, adding 19 catches for 144 receiving yards and 0.55 scores. He's still the third Bengals back by our models, however.
