Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott suspended by NFL for 6 games
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will be suspended for the first six weeks of the season, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Elliott is expected to file an appeal, which could potentially be dragged out for months and allow him to play until a final decision is made. For now, however, he's suspended for six games, which will sideline Elliott until Week 8 of the NFL season as the Cowboys have a bye in Week 6. Darren McFadden figures to see the majority of the work in the Cowboys' backfield while Alfred Morris may factor in a bit as well.
As a result of the suspension, Elliott goes from numberFire's RB3 overall to RB11 for the 2017 season. We project him to rush 191.5 times for 916.2 yards and 7.34 touchdowns while adding 31.6 receptions for 301.9 yards and 1.37 touchdowns through the air.
