Eagles claim Jordan Matthews won't see reduced role in offense

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews will not have a reduced role this season, says head coach Doug Pederson.

What It Means:

This comes a day after offensive coordinator Frank Reich stated that the Eagles would be mixing things up in the slot from last year, in addition to heaping loads of unprompted praise on Nelson Agholor's improvement this offseason. It caused some speculation that Matthews may be at risk of losing playing time, but Pederson claims that won't be the case. Even if the Agholor talk is just empty hype, the new additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith essentially guarantee that Matthews won't see as many targets in 2017.

numberFire's models project Matthews for 854.6 receiving yards and 4.43 touchdowns on 74.4 receptions this season. That places him 39th among wide receivers in our fantasy projections for the 2017 season.
