LeSean McCoy has potential to lead Bills in receptions in 2017
Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is a dark horse to lead the team in receptions this season, ABC Buffalo's Joe Buscaglia believes.
Buscaglia considers Sammy Watkins the favorite to pace the Bills in catches, but was making a point of new offensive coordinator Rick Dennison's history of targeting running backs. McCoy is a smooth pass catcher, and has a 78-catch season on his résumé. He's averaged a healthy 48 receptions through eight NFL seasons. McCoy's role is as mouthwatering as ever for his age-29 campaign.
Our models project McCoy to rattle off "just" 44 catches for 352 receiving yards and 1.37 touchdowns this year. Alongside his projected 1,262 rushing yards and 9.79 touchdowns on 260 carries, that places him squarely at fourth in our running back fantasy projections.
