Dolphins afraid Ryan Tannehill (knee) may be done for year
The Miami Dolphins now "fear" quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee) will require season-ending surgery, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter, but the team has yet to make a final decision.
There was a sense of optimism on Thursday when it was revealed that Tannehill didn't fully tear any ligaments, but it sounds like he aggravated his partially torn ACL and MCL from last December. If he opts for surgery, Matt Moore will step in as the starter under center for Miami. Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick have also been mentioned as options.
Among the 39 passers to drop back 100 times in 2016, Tannehill ranked 22nd in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. His 67.1 completion percentage was a career-high.
