Bills to release Matt Cassel?
The Buffalo Bills are having 'an internal debate' on whether or not to release quarterback Matt Cassel, according to Sal Capaccio of WGR550.
Cassel started training camp as the favorite for the starting quarterback job, but his inconsistency allowed Tyrod Taylor to grab the starter spot. Cassel has totaled 13-of-15 for 83 passing yards with 0 touchdowns this preseason.
The Bills ranked 14th in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Cassel ranked 41st out of 48 quarterbacks with at least 75 attempts with a -0.09 Passing NEP per attempt last season.
