Saints release wide receiver Nick Toon
The New Orleans Saints have released wide receiver Nick Toon, according to Kristian Garic of WWL Radio.
Toon was a fourth-round pick back in 2012. He had played in 16 games over the past two seasons, including five starts. With the offseason departure of Kenny Stills, it appeared there was an opportunity for Toon to take on additional responsibilities in 2015.
Toon was relatively efficient on his 23 targets last year, posting a 0.78 Reception Net Expected Points per target. This should solidify the ascent of rookie receiver Brandon Coleman up the depth chart.
