Lions part ways with wide receiver Ryan Broyles
The Detroit Lions have released wide receiver Ryan Broyles, according to Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News.
Broyles was the 54th overall pick out of Oklahoma back in 2012 and still had one year left on his rookie contract. His playing time had decreased each of his three seasons, ending with a five-game, zero-start season in 2014.
Over three seasons, Broyles was targeted only 51 times, producing 36.90 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per play. Over a small sample size, his Reception NEP per target fell to 0.54 in 2014 from 0.88 in 2012.
