Bucs' Kenny Bell tweaks hamstring, won't play Saturday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers' head coach Lovie Smith says wide receiver Kenny Bell will sit for Saturday's preseason game with a tweaked hamstring.

What It Means:

Bell, a fifth-round rookie, has been receiving high praise this season as the likely starting slot receiver for the Buccaneers in 2015. This sounds precautionary, and the team will likely just let Bell rest up so that he can be ready for Week 1.

This does open the door slightly for Louis Murphy to reclaim his job as the Buccaneers' third receiver, which he parlayed into a 56 target, 380 yard, and two touchdown season in 2014. Murphy accrued a robust 28.67 Reception Net Expected Points on that line, despite atrocious quarterback play. We actually like Murphy better than Bell this year, projecting the veteran for 27 receptions for 307 yards and a score.
