Falcons confident in Devonta Freeman extension
The Atlanta Falcons are "confident" that they will extend running back Devonta Freeman by the start of training camp, according to ESPN's Dianna Russini.
Freeman stated this past week that he also anticipates an extension sooner rather than later. He is heading into the last year of his rookie deal, in which he's set to make a total of $1.9 million with a base salary just under $1.8 million.
In two seasons as the Falcons primary rusher, Freeman has totaled 3,175 yards from scrimmage and 27 touchdowns through the ground and air. In 2017, our algorithms project him for just over 1,500 total yards and 11 touchdowns.
