Lions light at linebacker with DeAndre Levy, Kyle Van Noy absent
Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy hasn't practiced since Sunday.
The Lions' new $37 million man has been sitting out of practice with an undisclosed injury. Strong-side linebacker Kyle Van Noy has also been absent for a few weeks with an unknown injury, leaving the team short-handed in the linebacking group. Levy is locked in on the Lions' weak side, but Van Noy needs action to regain his job from Tahir Whitehead.
Without better knowledge of their ailments, we have to trust that the Lions' medical staff is just preserving their players for meaningful action. We still project Levy as one of the top IDP options for 2015, with 144 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and six passes defensed. Van Noy is projected at 80 tackles and two passes defensed if he regains his starting job.
