Browns' starting quarterback job is Cody Kessler's to lose
Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said the other quarterbacks will "Have to take" the starting job away from Cody Kessler.
What It Means:
"They better take it from him because I know him. He’s not going to give it up," Jackson said. Kessler has been the favorite to start under center for Cleveland come Week 1. DeShone Kizer is likely his toughest competition for the gig, followed by Brock Osweiler and Kevin Hogan, not necessarily in that order.
Among the 39 quarterbacks who had at least 100 drop backs in 2016, Kessler ranked 17th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back.
