DeShone Kizer has chance to be Browns' Week 1 starter

If Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer is the team's Week 1 starter, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora "wouldn't be surprised".

What It Means:

Kizer has been drawing raves from coach Hue Jackson at rookie camp. The Browns have no plans to rush him, but it's not impossible he wins out in an open competition with Cody Kessler and Brock Osweiler. Even if Kizer doesn't win the Week 1 job, he should make rookie year starts.

Among the 39 quarterbacks who had at least 100 drop backs in 2016, Kessler ranked 17th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back.
