Paul Perkins

Paul Perkins announced as Giants' starting running back

New York Giants running back Paul Perkins was named the starter by head coach Ben McAdoo on Monday.

What It Means:

The public announcement is a bit of a surprise, but the decision is not. Perkins didn't impress much during his rookie season, but opportunity is everything in fantasy football, so he'll have some low-end RB2/FLEX potential if the Giants can improve their offensive line play. Only 22-years-young, Perkins averaged 4.1 yards per carry on 112 attempts last season while failing to find the end zone in 14 games played.

Perkins earned -0.02 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry last season, finishing third in his own backfield. He ranked 28th out of the 54 running backs to see at least 80 carries.
