Packers move down, add receiving depth in DeAngelo Yancey at 175
The Green Bay Packers selected Purdue Boilermakers wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey with the 175th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Yancey stands 6'2", 220 pounds, and proved his average athleticism at the Boilermakers’ Pro Day, running 4.53 with a 35 1/2" vertical but shining in the three-cone drill (6.84). Yancey generated minimal pre-draft buzz because he struggles to separate and drops too many passes. He does combine size with some downfield playmaking ability.
Yancey tallied 2,344 receiving yards on 141 catches (16.6 yards per reception) with 20 touchdowns as a near-four-year starter at Purdue. His presence could bump guys like Jeff Janis off the roster with a good camp.
