Vikings move up to grab Dalvin Cook with the 41st pick
The Minnesota Vikings traded up to select Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook with the 41st overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
The Vikings gave the Cincinnati Bengals picks 48 and 128 to move up to take the Seminoles' All-Time leading rusher in Cook. A real workhorse running back, the Orange Bowl MVP carried the ball 20 or more times on 17 different occasions in his three years at FSU. Cook jumps to the front of a crowded backfield (Latavius Murray, Jerick McKinnon) in Minnesota and looks to be the heir to Adrian Peterson's throne for the Vikings.
Cook rushed for 4,464 yards with 46 touchdowns on 687 carries (6.5 yards per carry) in his Seminoles' career. The Vikings were worst in the NFL last season in Adjusted Offensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
