49ers wide receiver Jerome Simpson suspended six games
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jerome Simpson has been suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
Simpson is currently slotted as the number five receiver on the 49ers depth chart. The 49ers organization was aware there was a probability Simpson could be suspended when they signed him in March. Simpson did not play during the 2014 season after the Vikings released him for a suspension of violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
The 49ers ranked 22nd in our schedule-adjusted Passing Net Expected Points metric last season. Our algorithms project Simpson to finish the year with 14 receptions, 186 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown. He is currently off the fantasy radar.
