Martellus Bennett agrees to deal with Packers
The Green Bay Packers signed tight end Martellus Bennett, formerly of the New England Patriots.
After being replaced by Dwayne Allen in New England, Bennett will now take over for Jared Cook in Green Bay. He caught 55 passes for 701 yards and seven touchdowns during his only season with the Patriots. It's a great addition for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Among the 43 tight ends to earn 30 targets or more in 2016, Bennett's 0.78 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target was the ninth-best rate. Cook led all Packers tight ends with 0.53 Reception NEP per target.
