Kirk Cousins asked Dan Snyder for trade out of Washington
Washington franchise-tagged quarterback Kirk Cousins "appealed personally" to owner Dan Snyder for a trade, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
What It Means:
Cousins was "basically told not to get his hopes up," according to Mortensen. Washington completely mismanaged this situation from the beginning, and now the two sides appear to be headed for an awkward final year together before Cousins' inevitable reunion with Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco with the 49ers.
Cousins earned the sixth-most Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times in 2016.
