Patriots' Martellus Bennett wants Rob Gronkowski money
New England Patriots impending free agent tight end Martellus Bennett is looking for $9 million per year on his next deal, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
That number would tie Bennett with Rob Gronkowski for fifth-highest salary among tight ends in the NFL. He's probably not going to wind up signing for quite that much, but as the best tight end available on the open market, he'll likely be priced out of the Patriots' budget.
Among the 43 tight ends to earn 30 targets or more in 2016, Bennett's 0.78 Reception Net Expected Points per target was the ninth-best rate.
