Broncos interested in Danny Woodhead (ACL)
The Denver Broncos are interested in free agent running back Danny Woodhead (ACL), reports Alex Marvez of the Sporting News.
The Broncos seem to have more pressing needs on the offensive line and under center, but the running game could certainly use an upgrade as well. Woodhead had to receive ACL surgery after Week 2 of last season, so he shouldn't cost too much. The 32-year-old veteran back would provide a nice complement to C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker. It's worth noting that the Chargers are also interested in bringing Woodhead back.
The Broncos were fourth-worst in the NFL last season in terms of schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
