Packers figure to keep Ty Montgomery involved in 2017 backfield

Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery will remain part of the 2017 backfield, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel expects.

What It Means:

The Packers are moving Montgomery to running back full-time after playing him there the majority of 2016. He enters the offseason as the favorite for pass game work in a likely committee. The Packers could bring back Eddie Lacy as an early-down starter to pair with Montgomery.

Among the 56 running backs to see at least 75 carries this season, Montgomery's 0.08 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt were the ninth-most.
