Martavis Bryant not in Steelers' plans for 2017
While speaking on Tuesday, Steelers president Art Rooney II admitted the team is not yet counting on suspended wide receiver Martavis Bryant for 2017.
"I'm not sure at this point you can count on him," were Rooney's exact words. He added that the receiver still has a "ways to go" in his return process after Bryant officially applied for reinstatement just earlier this month. He's expected to be cleared at some point this year, but it would be ill-advised for the Steelers to count on him at this point.
Bryant turned in a decent 2015 season, when he was last on the field, and his 0.66 Reception Net Expected Points per target ranked 58th among the 87 wideouts with at least 50 targets on the year.
