Steelers knew Le'Veon Bell was dealing with groin issue

The Pittsburgh Steelers knew that running back Le'Veon Bell was playing with a groin injury down the stretch, head coach Mike Tomlin said in his year-end press conference.

What It Means:

That injury limited Bell to 11 snaps in Sunday's AFC title game. "It was just something to manage," said Tomlin. "I was aware of it, but it wasn't significant to the point where it affected planning or the anticipation of planning in any way." The Seattle Seahawks are in hot water for not reporting Richard Sherman's knee injury and it will be interesting to see if the Steelers face a similar backlash. As of now, it looks like Bell should have a normal offseason.

Bell earned just -0.56 Net Expected Points on his six rushes in the AFC Conference Championship Game, per numberFire Live.
