Demarcus Lawrence to undergo back surgery during Cowboys' offseason
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Demarcus Lawrence will undergo back surgery this offseason, Executive Vice President Stephen Jones said.
What It Means:
Just as he did a year earlier. Lawrence led the team with eight sacks in 2015 but only had one this past season. The former second-round pick is heading into the last year of his rookie contract. Jones also mentioned that defensive tackle Cedric Thornton will undergo offseason shoulder surgery.
The Dallas defense improved significantly in 2016, ranking 17th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
