Aiken, Brown competing for second receiver role in Baltimore
Wide receivers Kamar Aiken and Marlon Brown will be contending for the second-receiver role for the Baltimore Ravens, so the game tonight New Orleans Saints will be crucial for both of them.
The team had high hopes for rookie Breshad Perriman, but he has been out since injuring his knee on the first day of camp. He can certainly win the role, but for now it's between Aiken and Brown.
Last year, Aiken and Brown each caught 24 passes. Aiken saw two more targets (39 to 37). He added more points to the team's expected outcome than Brown did, according to our Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) metric. Aiken's Reception NEP was 26.06. Brown's was 21.83. On a per-target basis, Aiken (0.79) ranked fifth among 29 receivers with between 25 and 50 targets. Brown (0.70) ranked 12th.
