Bills looking into hiring Brad Childress as offensive coordinator

Kansas City Chiefs co-offensive coordinator Brad Childress is a leading candidate to fill the Buffalo Bills' vacancy at offensive coordinator, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

The former Minnesota Vikings head coach has spent the last four years in Kansas City, first working as a spread game analyst before being promoted to co-offensive coordinator in 2016. The Bills are also considering Greg Olson for the same position. If Childress leaves, Matt Nagy would take over as Kansas City's offensive coordinator.

Under Childress's tutelage in 2016, Alex Smith ranked a solid 18th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back among the 39 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this year.
