Jets' Darrelle Revis acknowledges play decline due to age
New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis blamed his struggles this season on being "old."
It is not a conclusion anyone would argue with as Revis has clearly lost a step, but it is still a surprising admission from a once-elite player. Owed $6 million guaranteed next season with another $2 million in the form of a roster bonus due on the second league day, the Jets are probably tied to Revis for another year. There have been rumblings that Revis would switch to safety, as other elite cornerbacks have done in the past. That may finally happen this season with the Jets out of the playoff picture.
The Jets ranked 27th in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play coming into Week 10.
