Chargers' Jason Verrett out for year with partially torn ACL
San Diego Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett has a partially torn ACL.
Verrett was off to a spectacular start to the season after locking down Jeremy Maclin, Allen Robinson and Brandin Cooks in three of his four games. He will be forced to go under the knife after playing through the injury the past two weeks. It's a major loss for a San Diego defense left with Casey Hayward and Brandon Flowers as its starting corners.
The Chargers defense ranks 10th by schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play through four weeks. Losing Verrett will be a big blow to them.
