J.J. Watt (back) confirmed out for season by Texans
Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt (back) will not play again this season, head coach Bill O'Brien confirmed.
Watt only made matters worse by trying to play through his back injury during the first three weeks of the season. He's now done for the season after going under the knife Thursday. This will be Watt's first missed football game since his high school playing days. Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus will be asked to do their best to fill the void.
Houston currently ranks second in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play, but we can expect that ranking to fall significantly with the loss of their most valuable defender.
