Texans' J.J. Watt undergoes back surgery, likely done for season
Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt underwent back surgery on Thursday, and it is expected to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
What It Means:
Surgery had been the expectation since news of Watt re-injuring his back broke on Tuesday, and while the surgery is likely season-ending, he is expected to make a full recovery.
Houston currently ranks second in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play, but we can expect that ranking to fall significantly with the loss of their most valuable defender.
