Tony Romo (back) progressing nicely for Cowboys in recovery
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (back) had a "really good" exam before the game Sunday, owner Jerry Jones said.
"Hopefully, soon, he’ll be out of the danger stage relative to his spine," Jones explained, "probably 2-3 more weeks and we can see how far he wants to go by his own volition." Despite this optimism, it would be very surprising to see Romo back under center prior to the Cowboys' Week 7 bye. That being said, it's good to hear that the veteran quarterback is trending in the right direction.
Our models currently expect Romo to return in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott, who is starting for the Cowboys in Romo's absence, compiled a stellar 15.96 Net Expected Points during Sunday's victory over the Washington Redskins.
