Chargers expressing high hopes for Tyrell Williams
San Diego Chargers second-year wide receiver Tyrell Williams is being talked up by quarterback Philip Rivers as a player the Chargers "need to catch a bunch of balls this year."
"We need him to catch a bunch of balls this year — a bunch of balls and have some huge days and big gains," said Rivers. The sophomore receiver stands at 6-foot-4 with 4.43 speed and will be expected to help fill the void created by Keenan Allen's (knee) loss. Williams was a popular re-draft add this week and should be owned in Dynasty leagues. There will be plenty of targets to go around with Allen shelved for the year.
Williams currently ranks ninth in the league in Reception Net Expected Points per target. Our models expect him to catch 2 passes for 33 yards and 0.24 touchdowns.
