Rams almost benched Case Keenum during Monday night meltdown
Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher admitted he considered benching quarterback Case Keenum for Sean Mannion at one point during the Rams' 28-0, Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
This doesn't bode well for his starter status heading into Week 2. He finished 17-of-35 for 130 yards with two interceptions on Monday night, missing high, low and everywhere inbetween. Sean Mannion will likely start against the Seattle Seahawks for the Rams' first game in Los Angeles since 1994. Number one overall pick Jared Goff is also a theoretical option.
Keenum's -15.46 Passing Net Expected Points were by far the worst in the league in Week 1, and only one other quarterback posted a mark below -4.00.
