49ers shut down Rams' Todd Gurley in Week 1 win
Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley managed only 47 yards on 17 carries on Monday as the San Francisco 49ers shut out the Rams 28-0.
Gurley was far from the only Rams' player to disappoint in Week 1, but with first overall pick Jared Goff a healthy scratch, all eyes were on Gurley to get a glimpse at what the Rams' future in Los Angeles might look like. It doesn't look good.
Gurley's -4.06 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) ranked 84th among the 90 running backs to record at least 1 carry this week, especially concerning against a 49ers team that ranked 25th in Defensive Rushing NEP in 2015.
