Saints' Kasim Edebali stepping into starting defensive end role
New Orleans Saints defensive end/linebacker Kasim Edebali has "seemingly taken the lead" as the favorite to start at defensive end.
Cameron Jordan has one side locked down, but the opposite side has been an open competition between Edebali, Davis Tull and Obum Gwacham. Edebali produced two sacks in the preseason opener.
The Saints ranked dead last in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play in 2015. In 693 snaps played in 2015, Edebali totaled five sacks and 18 total tackles.
