Andre Ellington is third on the Cardinals' running back depth chart
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington is listed as the third running back on the initial depth chart.
It's obviously not a surprise, but a reminder of the way Ellington's career has stalled. David Johnson is the Cardinals' clear-cut starter, and veteran Chris Johnson is his clear-cut backup. If he can stay healthy — always a challenge — Ellington will catch some passes before heading to free agency as a 28 year old.
Our algorithms project Ellington to soak up some value, but not much. We project him for 60 attempts for 267 rushing yards and 1.40 touchdowns, as well as 18 receptions for 159 receiving yards and 0.97 touchdowns this year.
