Redskins say team will use two-headed backfield

Washington Redskins seventh-round running back selection Keith Marshall will have a role in the backfield this season, Redskins general manager GM Scot McCloughan suggested while appearing on Sirius NFL Radio.

What It Means:

"It's a two-headed monster in the backfield," explained McCloughan. "He's a one-cut guy and when he puts his foot in the ground, he can FLY," the second-year GM professed while singing the praises of the rookie running back, "He's 220 (pounds) and he can FLY. ... Keith's done a really good job. A really good job." While this opposes the widely-held belief that Matt Jones will serve as a bellcow for Washington this season, Marshall is firmly on the radar in re-draft leagues and is a must-own in all Dynasty formats.

Our models don't foresee a timeshare at the moment, projecting Marshall to total 153 yards from scrimmage on 10 catches and 28 total touches during his rookie season. Meanwhile, numberFire ranks Jones as the 20th back heading into the season. We forecast 769 yards on the ground, with 45 catches and 410 yards through the air, for 6.00 total touchdowns during Jones' second year in the league.
