Panthers' Kony Ealy in NFL's concussion protocol
Carolina Panthers defensive end Kony Ealy has entered the league's concussion protocol.
Ealy took a helmet-to-helmet shot at Saturday's practice session, the first time Carolina has practiced in full pads this offseason. Ealy is coming off a monster performance in Super Bowl 50 and should have a major pass-rushing role this year if he can stay healthy. The Panthers are understandably going to be careful with their young, ascendant end.
Our algorithms project Ealy for 33.94 tackles and 6.88 sacks. He will be an integral part of a Panthers' defense looking to sustain their -35.60 Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points, which ranked second in the league.
