Darnell Dockett cleared for training camp
San Francisco offseason acquisition Darnell Dockett has been cleared to practice after recovering from a torn ACL.
Dockett is currently slotted as the backup left defensive end on the 49ers' depth chart. Dockett was named as a First-Team All-Pro during the 2009 season.
The 49ers ranked in the top half of the NFL in both Rushing and Passing in our schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points metric. However, the departures of multiple prominent defensive players including Justin Smith and Patrick Willis will be a big step back for the defense. We project Dockett to finish with only 40 tackles and 2.0 sacks during his comeback season.
