Chiefs and Eric Berry still not close on contract extension
The Kansas City Chiefs and defensive back Eric Berry are still unlikely to come to terms on a contract extension before the deadline on Friday per Rand Getlin of NFL.com
The Chiefs placed the franchise tag on Berry, and negotiations for a long-term deal haven't proven fruitful yet.
2015's Comeback Player of the Year, Berry has been a first team All-Pro in the last two full seasons that he has played (2013 and 2015). He played a big role in a Chiefs' defense that ranked fourth in the NFL in schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points.
