20 sacks seems realistic for Lions' Ezekiel Ansah?
Detroit Lions defensive line coach Kris Kocurek believes 20 sacks is a realistic possibility for defensive end Ziggy Ansah.
"He runs, he's tough, those are special traits for a guy like that. A lot of times you see big guys, they take plays off. I've never seen the guy take a play off," defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said. "He's got a lot of room for growth still." Ansah was third in the league with 14.5 sacks last season, 2.5 behind J.J. Watt for the NFL lead. Already 27, Ansah is knocking on the door of a monster pay day.
The Lions' defense had a huge production downturn in 2015, ranking 26th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points (NEP) per play, 25th in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play and 22nd in Adjusted Rushing NEP per play.
