Contract-year Stephon Gilmore to skip Bills OTA's

Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore will be a no-show for OTAs as the sides continue to discuss an extension.

What It Means:

Bills general manager Doug Whaley recently said he's "actively" trying to lock up Gilmore, whose $11-plus million salary cap number could be reduced with a long-term deal. Entering a contract year, Gilmore is likely targeting money in the five-year, $75 million range. Gilmore plans to spend the next few weeks training in Charlotte and Miami. Gilmore should not be considered a "holdout" unless he skips the Bills' mandatory minicamp set for June 14-16.

Buffalo ended 2015 ranked 12th in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play. Gilmore racked up 36 total tackles, 18 passes defended and three interceptions across 12 games in 2015.
