Falcons' Marcus Mariota (knee) likely headed to injured reserve
The Atlanta Falcons are expected to place quarterback Marcus Mariota (knee) on the injured reserve ahead of their Week 15 game against the New Orleans Saints.
The Falcons entered their Week 14 bye planning to make the switch to rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder, and head coach Arthur Smith called the decision "performance-based" even with Mariota's injury. Mariota's 2022 season is likely over.
Our models project Ridder for a solid game in his first career start, with 16.3 fantasy points against the Saints. We have him projected for 226.3 passing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, 0.7 interceptions, and 21.2 rushing yards.
